The Kentucky Wildcats and the Missouri Tigers meet Wednesday in college basketball action from Mizzou Arena. Kentucky is currently 8-3 overall. The Wildcats beat Florida A&M in their last game. As for Missouri, they’re 11-1 on the year following a win over Illinois last Thursday. Check back all season long for free college basketball picks at Sports Chat Place.

Kentucky has three losses this year to Michigan State, Gonzaga and UCLA. The wins otherwise have been over Howard, Duquesne, South Carolina State, North Florida, Bellarmine, Michigan, Yale and Florida A&M.

Matched up against Florida A&M last Wednesday, the Wildcats took a 10-point edge into the break. Kentucky posted a 46-36 run in the second half and won it 88-68. Cason Wallace was tops in scoring with 27 points and nine assists.

Over on the Missouri side, their lone loss came to Kansas on December 10. The Tigers have beaten Southern IN, Penn, Lindenwood, SIUE, MS Valley State, Coastal Carolina, Houston Christian, Wichita State, SEMO, UCF and Illinois otherwise.

In the Illinois game back on Thursday, the Tigers were way up 51-27 at the break. Missouri scored another 42 points in the second half and won it 93-71. Kobe Brown led the team on his 31 points and eight assists. D’Moi Hodge added 20 points as well.

PICK: I’m going to stay with Missouri. The line’s a little thin so I probably won’t touch it. That said, this should be a very fun game to watch and should be quite competitive. Missouri utterly dismantled the Illini in their last game, ultimately shooting 59.3 percent from the field with 50 percent (10-of-20) from 3-point range. It was a nice offensive bounce-back after a combined 133 points over the previous two outings.

As for Kentucky, they shot 52.5 percent with 37 rebounds and 19 team assists against Florida A&M. The Wildcats have been below 70 points in three of the last five games but shouldn’t have too much trouble keeping up in this one. It’ll be a great game, and I like Missouri to power out the cover.
