The New Hampshire Wildcats and the NJIT Highlanders meet in college basketball action from the Wellness and Events Center on Wednesday night.

The New Hampshire Wildcats will look to rebound from back-to-back losses after a 70-65 win over Albany last time out. Jayden Martinez leads the Wildcats in scoring with 15.1 PPG in addition to 5.8 RPG while Nick Guadarrama has 12.7 PPG with 5 RPG and 2.8 APG and Blondeau Tchoukulegno has 11.6 PPG with 5.2 RPG and a team-high 4 APG to lead the Wildcats in the assist department and to round out the trio of double-digit scorers for UNH so far this season. As a team, New Hampshire is averaging 68.5 PPG on 43.7% shooting from the field, 36.3% from three and 67.3% from the foul line while allowing 65.9 PPG on 43.4% shooting from the field and 33.7% from three this season.

The NJIT Highlanders will look to find some consistency after alternating wins and losses in each of their last four games after a 65-61 loss to Maine last time out. Miles Coleman leads the Highlanders in scoring and rebounding with 15.4 PPG with 5.9 RPG while Dylan O’Hearn has 12.2 PPG as the only other double-digit scorer for NJIT up to this point in the year. Antwuan Butler also has a team-high 2.7 APG as well to lead the Highlanders in the assist department this season. As a team, NJIT is averaging 63.3 PPG on 40.8% shooting from the field, 32.5% from three and 66.1% from the foul line while allowing 67.2 PPG on 41.4% shooting from the field and 31.1% from three this season.

New Hampshire is 12-4-1 ATS in their last 17 games following a loss and 1-5 ATS in their last 6 Wednesday games while the under is 5-1 in their last 6 games overall. NJIT is 2-7 ATS in their last 9 home games and 0-4 ATS in their last 4 home games against a team with a road winning percentage below .400 while the under is 5-0 in their last 5 games overall.

I get the case to be made for NJIT as a home underdog, but the Highlanders have had some serious offensive issues if we’re being honest. New Hampshire isn’t the first team I think of laying points on the road with, but UNH has been able to take down lesser opponents on the road this season and I think they could do the same here against NJIT. Give me the Wildcats laying the points here.
