North Texas vs Fresno State 11/19/22 College Basketball Picks, Predictions, Odds

The Fresno State Bulldogs and the North Texas Mean Green meet Saturday in college basketball action from UNT Coliseum. Fresno State is 1-2 on the year thus far. The Bulldogs lost to San Francisco in their last game. As for North Texas, they’re 1-1 following a loss to Saint Mary’s last weekend. Fresno State began their campaign against Fresno Pacific. The Bulldogs didn’t play very well in the first half but eventually notched a 69-56 win. In game two versus UC Santa Barbara, Fresno State took their first loss, this time 61-54. 

Back on Wednesday in a tricky matchup versus San Francisco, Fresno State was down 29-26 by halftime. The Bulldogs didn’t get any closer in a 67-60 loss. Jordan Campbell led the team on 17 points and five rebounds. 

Over on the North Texas side, their year began with a game versus Southern Nazarene. The Mean Green were down 23-19 at the break, however they surged in the second for a 53-47 win. Abou Ousmane doubled up with 23 points and 10 boards to lead the team. 

In game two against Saint Mary’s back on Sunday, North Texas posted a pretty dismal performance with just 12 first-half points. The Green ended up losing 63-33. Jayden Martinez was the only double-digit scorer with 13 points. 

PICK: I’m probably going with Fresno State. There’s not a lot to like about this matchup, though; neither team has been playing well at all so far this year. That said, the Bulldogs managed to hang around with San Francisco in their last outing and only lost by seven to an undefeated team. As for North Texas, they lost by 30 points in their last matchup and shot just 23.5 percent from the field. This one will obviously be an easier matchup but I don’t think the Mean Green will cover.
