Northern Kentucky vs Toledo 11/23/22 College Basketball Picks, Predictions, Odds

The Toledo Rockets and the Northern Kentucky Norse meet Wednesday in college basketball action from Germain Arena. Toledo is 3-2 overall this year and coming off a Tuesday loss to East Carolina. Toledo opened up their year with a win over Valparaiso 85-70. The Rockets kept it going in the next pair with wins over UAB and Oakland. Game four was Toledo’s first loss of the year, this time 83-71 to UMKC. 

In the Tuesday matchup versus East Carolina, Toledo had a 33-32 lead going into halftime. The Rockets were outpaced 54-42 from there and ended up losing 86-75. Tops in scoring was JT Shumate with 25 points and five rebounds. 

Over on the Northern Kentucky side, they lost to Kent State 79-57 in their opener this year. consecutive wins followed over Cincinnati-Clermont and Cincinnati, then an 82-61 loss to Florida Gulf Coast on Monday.

In the Tuesday matchup, the Norse faced TX-Arlington. Northern Kentucky kept the pace in the first half but hit a 30-26 deficit in the second for the 60-56 loss. Both Marques Warrick and Xavier Rhodes notched 18 points apiece. 

PICK: I’m probably going with Toledo. Both teams could use a good bounce-back effort here, though. The Rockets hung around with a pretty good East Carolina squad for much of Tuesday’s game. Toledo was ultimately outpaced in rebounds 35-23 and team assists 15-7 during the loss, however. That said, the Rockets should match up better in this one. As for Northern Kentucky, they’ve been at 64 points or below in four of their five games this year. The Norse are going to need to score better moving forward.
