Pennsylvania vs La Salle 12/3/22 College Basketball Picks, Predictions, Odds

The La Salle Explorers and the Penn Quakers meet Saturday in college basketball action from the Palestra. La Salle is currently 3-4 overall and fresh off a loss to Temple. La Salle fell to Villanova in their first game but then picked up wins over Wagner and Queens NC in the next pair. The Explorers fell to Wake Forest and Georgetown in consecutive games before a win over Binghamton. 

La Salle struggled again in their Wednesday matchup versus Temple. The Explorers had a 29-21 edge going into the break but fell apart on a 46-22 second-half run in a 67-51 loss. Khalil Brantley led the team with 14 points and nine boards. 

Over on the Quakers’ side, they lost their first three outings to Iona, Missouri and Towson before picking up a win over Drexel. Penn lost to West Virginia, then beat Lafayette, Hartford, Colgate and Delaware in the next quartet. 

On Wednesday versus Saint Joseph’s, Penn couldn’t keep their win streak going. The Quakers lost a 36-29 halftime lead and ended up falling 85-80 in overtime. Jordan Dingle led the way with his 28 points and three rebounds. 

PICK: I’ll probably stay with Penn in this one. The Quakers probably should have beaten Saint Joseph’s on Wednesday, but the bad second half and tepid overtime period did them in. Still, Penn has been playing quite well overall since late November. The Quakers have hit 74 or more points in each of their last five games as well. 

As for La Salle, they’re coming off a flat loss to Temple featuring just 31.9 percent shooting from the floor. The Explorers haven’t been over 65 points in any of their last four games, and I’m thinking they’ll have trouble keeping the pace if Penn is hitting shots.
