The Evansville Aces and the Robert Morris Colonials meet Saturday in college basketball action from Enmarket Arena. Evansville is fresh off a Friday game versus South Alabama. In that one the Aces lost by nine points. As for Robert Morris, they’re coming off a Friday outing against Mercer. The Colonials went on to fall by six points. Evansville managed to win their first game of the 2022-23 campaign over Miami-OH 78-74. The Aces’ season took a quick downturn however, as they lost to Saint Louis, Southeast Missouri State, SMU and UCF in the next four.

On Friday versus South Alabama, the Aces had a 37-37 tie going into halftime. Evansville was outscored 41-30 in the second during a 76-67 loss. Blaise Beauchamp put up 18 points to lead the team. Kenny Strawbridge managed 14 points.

Over on the Robert Morris side, they fell in a blowout to Ohio State in their opener this year. The Colonials bounced back with wins over Pitt-Greensburg and WV Wesleyan in the next pair before falling to Dayton.

Robert Morris trailed Mercer 29-27 at the half in Friday’s matchup. The Colonials didn’t end up getting any closer in a 72-66 defeat. Kahliel Spear finished with 24 points and nine rebounds. Michael Green added 19 points.

PICK: I’m going to try Evansville. The Aces faded a bit in the second half against South Alabama and let the victory slip away. Evansville shot a nice 47.2 percent from the floor though, and had a 33-33 tie in rebounds.

As for Robert Morris, they shot just 1-of-17 (5.9 percent) from 3-point range in the Mercer loss Friday. The Colonials were out-rebounded 39-32 in a reasonable defensive effort. I don’t think they’ll cover here, though.
