San Jose State vs Ball State 11/27/22 College Basketball Picks, Predictions, Odds

The Ball State Cardinals and the San Jose State Spartans meet Sunday in college basketball action from Baha Mar Convention Center. Ball State is 4-2 on the year so far. The Cardinals beat Missouri State in their Saturday matchup. As for San Jose State, they’re 5-2 and fresh off a Saturday win versus Oakland. Ball State began their 2022-23 campaign with a 109-39 win over Earlham and an 83-71 loss to Indiana State. The Cardinals won the next pair over Omaha and IU South Bend before another loss to Vermont. 

In the Saturday game versus Missouri State, the Cardinals trailed 38-35 by halftime. Ball State hit a 32-26 run in the second half on the way to a 67-64 win. Payton Sparks doubled up on 24 points and 12 rebounds, and Demarius Jacobs added 10 points. 

Over on the San Jose State side, they got off to a hot start this year with three straight wins over Georgia Southern, Bethesda and Alabama State. The Spartans lost to Hofstra, then beat Northern Colorado before another loss to North Texas. 

On Saturday matched up against Oakland, San Jose State rolled to a dominant 47-27 lead after one half. The Spartans cruised from there in an 80-67 win. Sage Tolbert was tops in scoring with 25 points and seven rebounds. 

PICK: I might take a stab on Ball State in this one. The Cardinals put together a pretty good second half in the comeback victory over Missouri State on Saturday. Ball State ended up shooting 45.1 percent from the floor in that one, bagging 32 rebounds and 12 team assists along the way. The Cardinals have been scoring quite well overall this year with 67 or more points in every game so far. If Ball State can get off to a good start here I think they’ll be fine cover-wise. San Jose State could throw a wrench into the plans if they put up another big offensive outing, though.
