TCU vs Jackson State 12/6/22 College Basketball Picks, Predictions, Odds

The Jackson State Tigers and the TCU Horned Frogs meet in college basketball action from the Ed & Rae Schollmeier Arena on Tuesday night.

The Jackson State Tigers will be looking to build on their first win of the season after a 69-68 win over SMU on the road last time out. Trace Young has 14.1 PPG and a team-high 6.1 RPG to lead the tigers in rebounding while Ken Evans Jr. has 14.1 PPG with 5.9 RPG and a team-high 3.9 APG to lead Jackson State in assists as the only other double-digit scorer for Jackson State so far this season. Romelle Mansel also has 6.1 RPG as well for the Tigers this season. As a team, Jackson State is averaging 70.3 PPG on 42.4% shooting from the field, 34.4% from three and 62.1% from the foul line this season.

The TCU Horned Frogs will try to build on their current four-game win streak after a 75-62 win over Providence last time out. Mike Miles Jr. has 18.2 PPG along with 3.8 RPG and 3.2 APG. Emanuel Miller has 12.6 PPG with 5.4 RPG.  Micah Peavy has 10.1 PPg and Damion Baugh has 10 PPG and 4 RPG this season to cap off the group of double-digit scorers for TCU so far this season. Eddie Lampkin Jr. has a team-high 7.3 RPG to lead the Horned Frogs on the glass while Shahada Wells has a team-high 4.1 APG to lead TCU in the assist department. As a team, TCU is averaging 74.4 PPG on 45.2% shooting from the field, 27.7% from three and 68.7% from the foul line this season.

Jackson State is 1-3-1 ATS in their last 5 games against a team with a winning record and 2-7-1 ATS in their last 10 games against a team with a winning percentage above .600 while the under is 9-4 in their last 13 road games. TCU is 5-21 ATS in their last 26 games against a team with a losing record and 3-9 ATS in their last 12 Tuesday games while the under is 5-2 in their last 7 games following an ATS win.

I get the case to be made for an underdog in some spots, as Jackson State hasn’t done much outside of beating a subpar SMU team outright that had no business laying double-digits in that game. On the other side, TCU has done a good job beating up on lesser teams more often than not, and I just don’t know if Jackson State can hang for a full 40 minutes. Not one I’m rushing to bet, but I lean TCU’s way here.
