UConn vs Iowa State 11/27/22 College Basketball Picks, Predictions, Odds

The Iowa State Cyclones and the UConn Huskies meet Sunday in college basketball action from Moda Center. Iowa State enters this one at 5-0 after a stunning upset over North Carolina on Friday. Iowa State posted an 88-39 blowout win over IUPUI in their opener, then took out NC A&T in game two. The Cyclones beat Milwaukee 68-53 in game three. Game four was a close victory over Villanova 81-79. 

In Friday’s matchup against top-ranked North Carolina, Iowa State kept their run going. The Cyclones were down 34-32 at halftime, then surged on a 38-31 run for a 70-65 win. Caleb Grill led the team on 31 points, and Jaren Holmes added 22 points. 

Over on the UConn side, they haven’t had too many issues at all so far. The Huskies took out Stonehill, Boston U, Buffalo, UNC Wilmington and Delaware State in their first five. Game six was another win, this time 83-59 over Oregon. 

Matched up against Alabama on Friday, UConn held a 35-30 edge by the break. The Huskies kept it going in the second with 47 points and took an 82-67 win. Adama Sanogo led the team on 25 points with four rebounds and two assists. 

PICK: I’m leaning toward Iowa State here. This should be a pretty great matchup regardless, though. Both teams have been great so far. Iowa State shot 43.9 percent from the floor with 45 percent (9-of-20) from 3-point range in the win over North Carolina. The Cyclones were out-rebounded 36-29 (12-10) offensive but had 17 assists to the Tar Heels’ 12. As for UConn, they put up another quality outing versus Alabama on Friday with 43.3 percent shooting and 21-of-24 (87.5 percent) from the line. This matchup should be one of the best all weekend, and I think Iowa State can keep it up to power out a cover.
