USC vs Auburn 12/18/22 College Basketball Picks, Predictions, Odds

The Auburn Tigers and the USC Trojans meet Sunday in college basketball action from Galen Center. Auburn is 9-1 on the season and fresh off a win over Georgia State. Auburn has just one loss to Memphis on the books this year. Otherwise it’s been wins over George Mason, South Florida, Winthrop, TX Southern, Bradley, Northwestern, Saint Louis, Colgate and Georgia State. 

In the Georgia State game on Wednesday, the Tigers were down 31-28 at the break. Auburn stormed back on a 44-33 run from there and won 72-64. Jaylin Williams was the top team scorer on 20 points and eight boards. 

Over on the USC side, they’ve got losses to FGCU, Tennessee and Wisconsin. Otherwise the Trojans have beaten Alabama State, Vermont, Mount St. Mary’s, BYU, California, Oregon State, CSUF and Long Beach State.

Matched up against the Beach on Wednesday, the Trojans carved out a 43-32 lead by the break. USC was outscored by one point from there during an 88-78 win. Both Tre White and Reese Waters led the way on 20 points apiece. 

PICK: I wanted to take a stab on USC here, but with the line being so close I’ll probably stick with Auburn. The Trojans were out-rebounded 50-32 by Long Beach State in their last game, but still were able to win thanks to 49.2 percent shooting and 24 team assists. USC had a string of five games with 66 or fewer points going before that, so it was good to see the Trojans hang a big number. As for Auburn, they got into a little trouble in the first half versus Georgia State in their last game. The Tigers were able to pull that one out and they’ve got a great shot at a win here as well. I like USC to make it interesting, though. Should be a good one.
