Vermont vs Brown 11/7/22 College Basketball Picks, Predictions, Odds

The Brown Bears and Vermont Catamounts meet Monday in college basketball action at the Patrick Gymnasium. The Brown Bears are coming off a 13-win season. The Vermont Catamounts are coming off a 28-win season and a NCAA Tournament bid.

The Brown Bears have won a combined 28 games the last 2 years. Kino Lilly Jr. returns after averaging 13.3 points and 1.6 rebounds, while Paxson Wojcik averaged 9.6 points and 1.3 assists. Nana Owusu-Anane played 359 minutes last season, and Dan Friday averaged 2.2 rebounds. The Brown Bears say goodbye to their top player in Tamenang Choh, but they return the majority of last year’s production, and that’s going to make them a competitive squad in the Ivy League. This is a nice early test for an experienced team that should have improved expectations. 

The Vermont Catamounts have now won 20-plus games 18 times in school history. Aaron Deloney returns after averaging 7.5 points and 1.3 rebounds, while Finn Sullivan averaged 7.2 points and 2 assists. Robin Duncan played in 704 minutes last season, and Nick Fiorillo averaged 2.7 rebounds. The Vermont Catamounts say goodbye to their top-4 scorers from last season, which leaves serious question marks heading into the season. Deloney is now the leader of this group as he enters his senior year and is fresh off his best season yet. There are 7 seniors on this Vermont roster, but somebody or two will have to step up if this season is going to be a success.

The Bears are 4-10 ATS in their last 14 Monday games and 0-4 ATS in their last 4 games overall. The Catamounts are 6-1 ATS in their last 7 home games and 4-0 ATS in their last 4 games overall. The over is 9-2 in Bears last 11 road games. The under is 5-2 in Catamounts last 7 overall.

The Vermont Catamounts are going to get the benefit of the doubt because of their name, but they have a lot of players to replace, and it could take some time. The Brown Bears haven’t scared anybody over the years, but they’re an experienced side with a ton of returning production, and they could make some noise in the Ivy. Don’t sleep on Brown.
