Louisville Cardinals

It’s been a tough year for the Cardinals so far. Louisville only has wins over Western Kentucky and Florida A&M. Since then it’s been losses to Lipscomb, NC State, Kentucky, Syracuse, Wake Forest, Clemson, North Carolina and Pittsburgh. 

Last Wednesday versus Pittsburgh, the Cardinals trailed 37-28 by the break. Louisville posted a 38-26 deficit in the second and lost 75-54. Tops on the team in scoring was El Ellis with 19 points and five assists to his credit. 

Boston College Eagles

Over on the Boston College side, they beat Cornell, Detroit, George Mason, Wyoming, Rhode Island, Stonehill, Virginia Tech and Notre Dame in their first 16 games. The Eagles are 1-3 since then with losses to Miami-FL, Wake Forest and North Carolina. 

Matched up against Notre Dame on Saturday, the Eagles took a slim 36-35 edge into the break. Boston College hit a 48-37 run in the second half and won the game 84-72. Quenten Post was tops in scoring with 29 points and 14 rebounds.

I’ll probably stick with Boston College. There’s admittedly not a ton of intrigue here, though; both teams are struggling. That said, the Eagles posted a nice win over Notre Dame in their last outing, shooting 56.9 percent from the field with 30 rebounds and 20 assists. Boston College hadn’t cracked 64 points in three of their previous four games so it was a strong scoring performance. Louisville has a few good scoring outings themselves lately, however I don’t think they’ll keep a cover pace.
