Clemson vs Georgia Tech Pick – Basketball Predictions & Odds 1/24/23

The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets and the Clemson Tigers meet Tuesday in college basketball action from Littlejohn Coliseum. Georgia Tech is 8-11 so far this year. The Yellow Jackets lost to Syracuse in their last game. As for Clemson, there’s sitting at 16-4 after a win over Virginia Tech on Saturday. Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets

Georgia Tech managed to go 8-6 over their first 14 games, costing to Utah, Marquette, Iowa, North Carolina, Clemson and Virginia along the way. The Jackets have since lost to Florida State, Notre Dame, Pittsburgh, NC State and Syracuse. 

On Saturday versus Syracuse, the Jackets took a 40-33 deficit into the break. Georgia Tech didn’t end up getting closer on a 40-30 second half and took a loss 80-63. Dallan Coleman was the leading scorer on 17 points. 

Clemson Tigers 

Over on the Clemson side, they lost to only South Carolina, Iowa and Loyola IL in their first 14 games. The Tigers have since beaten Virginia Tech, Pittsburgh, Duke, Louisville and Virginia Tech again during this 5-1 stretch. 

In the Saturday game versus Virginia Tech, the Tigers were down 31-26 going into the second half. Clemson posted a 25-19 edge from there and won 51-50 in comeback fashion. PJ Hall led the team on 20 points and eight rebounds.

I might take a stab on Georgia Tech here. The Yellow Jackets will really need a good offensive showing however; they’ve posted 66 or fewer points in four of their last five games. Playing at Littlejohn isn’t going to be easy, either. That said, Clemson looks vulnerable over the last two games. The Tigers lost to Wake Forest last Tuesday then barely escaped Virginia Tech in the Saturday matchup. Clemson should still win obviously, but if the Jackets play well I think they can get close enough to cover.
