The Miami Hurricanes and the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets meet Wednesday in college basketball action from McCamish Pavilion. Miami is 13-1 overall this year. The Hurricanes beat Notre Dame in their last outing. As for Georgia Tech, they’re 7-6 on the season following a loss to Virginia Tech on Saturday. Miami won four straight to start the year, then fell to Maryland on November 20. Since then it’s been wins over St. Francis BK, UCF, Rutgers, Louisville, Cornell, NC State, St. Francis PA, Virginia and Notre Dame.

Matched up against the Irish back on Friday, the Hurricanes were down 34-33 at the break. Miami posted a 43-31 edge from there however and won it 76-65. Nijel Pack led the team on 21 points, and Norchad Omier added 18 points.

Over on the Georgia Tech side, they were 5-3 to start out the year, losing to Utah, Marquette and Iowa. The Jackets are 2-3 since then with losses to North Carolina, Clemson and Virginia during that stretch.

On Saturday versus Virginia, Georgia Tech fell behind 36-25 in the first half. The Jackets were outscored 38-31 in the second half and lost 74-56. Miles Kelly topped the team on 20 points, and Javon Franklin put up 11 points with nine rebounds.

PICK: I’m going to stay with Miami. The Hurricanes started out a little slow against Notre Dame in their last game, but everything worked out. Miami has hit 66 or more points in every game so far this year, and shouldn’t have too much trouble putting up a good offensive outing in this one. As for Georgia Tech, they’ve shown some flashes here and there but haven’t matched up well against the better teams. The Jackets have 66 points or fewer in three of the last four outings and will most likely have trouble keeping the pace here.
