The Murray State Racers and the Indiana State Sycamores meet Saturday in college basketball action from Hulman Center. Murray State enters this one at 13-10 so far. The Racers eked out a win over Belmont on Wednesday. As for Indiana State, they’re 15-9 overall following a win over Evansville in their Wednesday outing. Murray State Racers
Murray State started out the year with mixed results, going 9-7 over their first 16 games. The Racers have since managed a 4-3 stretch, beating UIC, Indiana State, Missouri State and Belmont with losses to Northern Iowa, Belmont and Southern Illinois.
In the Wednesday rematch versus Belmont, the Racers took a 49-43 edge into the locker room. Murray State was outscored 39-34 from there but held on for the 83-82 win. Brian Moore led the way on 25 points with six rebounds.
Indiana State Sycamores
Over on the Indiana State side, they were 12-4 through 16 games with losses to UMKC, Southern Indiana, Duquesne and Northern Illinois. The Sycamores are 3-5 since then with wins over UIC, Evansville and Northern Iowa.
On Wednesday versus Evansville, Indiana State was up by one point going into the second half. The Sycamores powered out a 46-29 second half and won the game 83-65, though. Courvoisier McCauley doubled up on 18 points and 11 rebounds in the victory.

I’m going to stay with Indiana State. The Sycamores are coming off a nice win over a struggling Evansville team (despite the slow start), and they’ve now won consecutive games for the first time since January 7. Indiana State will need all the momentum they can get coming into this one, since they lost 82-73 the last time these teams met up on January 21 at CFSB Center. Murray State has won consecutive games themselves and took out a good Belmont team on Wednesday. It’ll be an uphill battle, but I think the Sycamores can eke out a revenge cover in a competitive matchup.
