Iowa State vs TCU Pick – Basketball Predictions & Odds 2/15/23

The TCU Horned Frogs and the Iowa State Cyclones meet Wednesday in college basketball action from Hilton Coliseum. TCU stands at 17-8 so far this year. The Frogs lost to Baylor in their last game. TCU Horned Frogs

Texas Christian managed a pretty good start this year, going 14-4 over their first 18 outings. The Frogs are just 3-4 since then however, losing to Mississippi State, Oklahoma State, Kansas State and Baylor during that time. 

In the Baylor game back on Saturday, TCU held a 34-31 halftime lead. The Frogs were outscored 41-34 from there however and fell 72-68. Leading the team was Damion Baugh with a double-double on 16 points and 10 assists. 

Iowa State Cyclones

Over on the Iowa State side, they kicked off the year on a 14-3 clip through 17 appearances. The Cyclones are only 2-5 in their last seven with losses to Oklahoma State, Missouri, Texas Tech, West Virginia and Oklahoma State again. 

In the rematch with Oklahoma State over the weekend, the Cyclones were up 32-26 in the locker room. Iowa State was outscored 38-24 in the second half and lost it 64-56. Aljaz Kunc was the top team scorer with 13 points and three rebounds. 

ANDREW’S FREE PICK 

I suppose I’m sticking with TCU here. Some of the luster has worn off this matchup considering both teams are coming off losses, but it should still be a great game. TCU has lost four of their last five games, but they’ve scored 68 or more points in four of those five. Trouble is, the Frogs have given up 72 or more points in all five of them. These teams last met up back on January 7 at Schollmaier Arena. Iowa State powered out a 69-67 road victory in that one thanks to a 36-30 first half. This one should be a competitive, fairly high-scoring rematch and I like TCU to power out the cover. Should be a fun one to watch.
