The Saint Louis Billikens and the Loyola-Chicago Ramblers meet in college basketball action from the Gentile Center on Wednesday night. Let’s dive into the odds, injuries, matchup history and make a prediction for this game.
Saint Louis is listed as a 5.5-point road favorite in this game with an attached ML price of -230. The over/under for this game is set at 142.5 points.
Saint Louis has a considerable amount of players on the injury report, with Fred Thatch Jr. out for the season with a knee injury while Yuri Collins is questionable with an illness, Javon Pickett is questionable with a lower body injury and Kellen Thames is questionable with an undisclosed injury. Saint Thomas is the only Rambler on the injury report, listed as questionable as well with an undisclosed injury.
These two teams have not squared off since the 2007 season.
Saint Louis is 2-5 ATS in their last 7 road games and 0-7 ATS in their last 7 games following an ATS win while the under is 6-2 in their last 8 games against a team with a winning percentage below .400. Loyola-Chicago is 7-19 ATS in their last 26 games overall and 1-4 ATS in their last 5 home games while the over is 6-0 in their last 6 games overall.
I’m leaning towards Saint Louis here. I’d obviously like to know the status of guys like Collins and Pickett for Saint Louis for this game, but the problem for the Ramblers is that Loyola-Chicago has just not looked good in making the transition to their new conference and the Ramblers just look like their best days are behind them at this point. Saint Louis is the better team by a fair margin and I think the Billikens get the job done in this one. Give me Saint Louis laying the points.
