Nebraska Cornhuskers 

Nebraska posted a 9-7 run to start the year, losing to St. John’s, Oklahoma, Memphis, Indiana, Purdue, Kansas State, and Michigan State. The Cornhuskers are just 1-4 in their last five outings with a lone win over Ohio State. 

In the Northwestern game back on Wednesday, the Cornhuskers were down 43-30 by halftime. Nebraska didn’t get any closer on a 35-33 second-half deficit and lost 78-63. Keisei Tominaga led the team on 22 points. 

Maryland Terrapins 

Over on the Maryland side, they went 11-5 to start out the year with losses to Wisconsin, Tennessee, UCLA, Michigan and Rutgers. The Terrapins are 2-2 since then with losses to Iowa and Purdue mixed with wins over Michigan and Wisconsin. 

Matched up against Wisconsin in their Wednesday game, the Terrapins were up by four points going into the second half. Maryland hit a 41-27 run from there and cruised to the 73-55 win. Jahmir Young led the team with 22 points and eight rebounds.

I’m going to stick with Maryland. The Terrapins didn’t have much trouble at all versus Wisconsin in their last outing, shooting 56 percent from the field with 32 rebounds along the way. Maryland is just 3-4 over their last seven outings with a couple of blowouts during that time; that said, the Terrapins should be able to handle Nebraska at Xfinity Center. Speaking of the Cornhuskers, they haven’t cracked 65 points for five straight games. If Maryland gets going it’s going to be tough for Nebraska to keep up.
