Weber State hit a 12-12 overall record during their first 24 games this year. The Wildcats finished off the regular season with a 5-2 run, beating Montana State, Sacramento State, Portland State, Idaho and Northern Arizona in that time.
In Monday’s tournament game versus Sacramento State, the Wildcats hit a 41-25 pace in the first half. Weber State was outscored 39-29 from there but held on for the win 70-64. Leading the way for the Wildcats was Dillon Jones on 18 points and five rebounds.
Montana State Bobcats
Over on the Montana State side, they hit a 17-9 run across their first 26 games of the season. The Bobcats finished off with a nice five-game win streak, taking out Idaho State, Montana, Sacramento State, Portland State and Eastern Washington.

ANDREW’S FREE PICK
I’ll probably lean toward the Bobcats in this one Montana State didn’t have a ton of trouble with Northern Colorado in their tournament matchup on Sunday, with four different players scoring at least 15 points along the way. Montana State has now won six straight games, and they’ve scored 79 or more points in three straight. These teams have split their two meetings so far this year. Montana State won at home 67-52 back on January 14, then Weber State won 73-63 at Dee Events Center on February 9. The Wildcats are on a three-game win streak with 67 or more points scored in each outing, so Montana State likely will have to push the issue on offense in order to keep a cover pace. I think they’ll be able to do it.
