Oregon State vs Arizona State 1/14/23 College Basketball Picks, Predictions, Odds

The Arizona State Sun Devils and the Oregon State Beavers meet Saturday in college basketball action from Gill Coliseum. Arizona State is fresh off a Thursday matchup versus Oregon. In that one the Sun Devils managed a 17-point victory. As for Oregon State, they played Arizona in their Thursday game. The Beavers ended up losing by 12 points. Arizona State posted an 11-1 run over their first 12 games with a lone loss to Texas Southern on November 13. After that, the Sun Devils hit a 2-2 run with losses to San Francisco and Arizona before wins over Washington State and Washington. 

On Thursday versus Oregon, Arizona State took a 46-29 advantage into the second half. The Sun Devils kept the pace with 44 points from there and won it 90-73. Desmond Cambridge was the top team scorer on 21 points and three rebounds.  

Over on the Oregon State side, they were 6-6 after 12 games with wins over Tulsa, Florida A&M, NW Christian, Washington, Seattle and Green Bay. The Beavers would then beat Denver and fall to Oregon, Utah and Colorado over the next quartet. 

In the Thursday matchup versus Arizona, Oregon State was down 44-26  by the break. The Beavers got better in the second with a 48-42 advantage but still lost 86-74. Both Tyler Bilodeau and Michael Rataj scored 18 points apiece. 

PICK: I’ll probably stick with Arizona State. The Sun Devils are rolling along quite well in the three games since their Arizona loss. Arizona State has hit 73 or more points in all three of those outings and should post a decent total here if they’re playing to their capabilities. As for Oregon State, they’ve had some tricky matchups lately and haven’t been able to put up points consistently. The Beavers have been at 68 points or fewer in six straight games, going 2-4 in that time. I don’t think Oregon State will keep a cover pace here, either.
