Oregon State vs Stanford Pick – Basketball Predictions & Odds 3/2/23

The Stanford Cardinal and the Oregon State Beavers meet Thursday in college basketball action from Gill Coliseum. Stanford is currently 12-17 on the year and coming off a win over Washington. Stanford Cardinal 

Stanford posted a sketchy 10-12 run over their first 22 games this year. The Cardinal are only 2-5 since then, taking losses to Colorado, Arizona State, UCLA, Washington State and USC alongside wins over Arizona and Washington. 

In the Washington game on Sunday, the Cardinal hit a nice 38-26 run in the first half. Stanford kept the pace on 43 more points in the second and won it 81-69. Spencer Jones led the team with 21 points and five rebounds in the victory. 

Oregon State Beavers 

Over on the Oregon State side, they were 9-13 at the 22-game mark this year. The Beavers are 1-6 since then with losses to Arizona State, Arizona, Oregon State, Washington State, Washington and Oregon along with a win over USC. 

Back on Saturday versus Oregon, Oregon State went into halftime with a 35-29 deficit. The Beavers hit a 38-34 run in the second and but still took the loss 69-67. Dexter Akanno was the top team scorer on 17 points and two assists. 

ANDREW’S FREE PICK 

I’ll probably lean Stanford, but I’m not touching this one. Neither team is doing well these days so there’s not a ton to get excited about in this one. That said, it should be a competitive matchup at least. The Beavers haven’t hit 70 points since way back on January 12. That’s a string of 12 straight games. Stanford is at least scoring better, but they’re not doing much in the win column these days. These teams last met on January 19 in a 67-46 win for the Cardinal. Oregon State will probably perform better at Gill Coliseum but I don’t see them covering.
