Pacific vs Gonzaga Pick – Basketball Predictions & Odds 1/21/23

The Gonzaga Bulldogs and the Pacific Tigers meet Saturday in college basketball action from Alex G. Spanos Center. Gonzaga is coming off a Thursday game versus LMU. In that one the Bulldogs lost by just one point. As for Pacific, they played San Francisco in their Thursday game. The Tigers ended up falling in a blowout. Gonzaga Bulldogs 

Gonzaga went 11-3 over their first 14 games, losing to only Texas, Purdue and Baylor along the way. The Bulldogs kept winning after that, taking out Pepperdine, San Francisco, Santa Clara, BYU and Portland in the next five. 

On Thursday versus LMU, the Bulldogs were up 33-32 going into the second half. Gonzaga was outscored 36-34 from there and lost a tough one 68-67. Drew Timme topped the team with 17 points and seven rebounds. 

Pacific Tigers 

Over on the Pacific side, they posted a 6-8 run to start the season with wins over ND State, North Dakota, UC Davis, Fresno State, Stan State and San Jose State. The Tigers went 4-2 over the next six with losses to BYU and Santa Clara. 

Matched up against San Francisco on Thursday, the Tigers were outscored 44-22 in the first half and 37-35 in the second half in a 78-57 defeat. Leading team scorer Donovan Williams posted 15 points with five rebounds.

ANDREW’S FREE PICK 

I’ll probably stick with Gonzaga. The Bulldogs need a good bounce-back after falling in an upset to LMU, though. Gonzaga was just 15-of-23 from the line (65.2 percent) in that one and got out-rebounded 38-29 (12-7 offensive). As for Pacific, they had their string of four straight games with 78 or more points scored snapped with the loss to San Francisco on Thursday. This one’s going to be another tough matchup, and I don’t think Pacific will get all that close to an angry Gonzaga team.
