Seton Hall vs Marquette Pick – Basketball Predictions & Odds 1/21/23

Marquette Golden Eagles

Marquette went 10-4 over their first 14 games this year, losing to Purdue, Mississippi State, Wisconsin and Providence along the way. The Eagles are 5-1 since then with wins over Villanova, St. John’s, UConn, Georgetown and Providence. 

Matched up against Providence on Wednesday, Marquette was up 38-31 going into the second half. The Eagles scored another 45 points from there and won it 83-75. Kameron Jones led the team on 21 points with four rebounds. 

Seton Hall Pirates 

Over on the Seton Hall side, they beat Monmouth, Saint Peter’s, Wagner, Memphis, Lincoln PA, Rutgers and Drexel in their first 14 games. The Pirates are 5-1 since then with wins over St. John’s, Butler, Georgetown, DePaul and UConn. 

In the UConn game on Wednesday, the Pirates were down 40-26 by the break. Seton Hall hit a 41-26 run from there and won it 67-66. Kadary Richmond led the team with 18 points and 10 rebounds for a double-double.

I’m going to take a stab on Marquette. We should have a pretty good matchup on our hands regardless, though. The Eagles have been through a tough schedule over the last seven games, and they’ve managed to emerge with a 6-1 record in that time. Marquette has scored well, with 68 or more points in 15 straight games. As for Seton Hall, they’ve won four straight games and held opponents to 67 points or fewer in all four of them. I like this matchup to be close, with Marquette powering out a late cover. Should be a fun one.
