Iowa Hawkeyes
Iowa got off to an up-and-down 12-7 start this year through 19 games. The Hawkeyes are 5-3 in their last eight, taking wins over Rutgers, Northwestern, Illinois, Minnesota and Ohio State. The losses in that time came versus Michigan State, Purdue and Northwestern.
In the Northwestern rematch on Sunday, Iowa went into the break with a 37-26 deficit. The Hawkeyes didn’t get any closer on a 43-34 second-half run and lost 80-60. Kris Murray led the team with 14 points and five rebounds.
Wisconsin Badgers
Over on the Wisconsin side, they hit a 12-6 run over their first 18 outings this year. The Badgers have since gone 3-5 with losses to Maryland, Illinois, Northwestern, Nebraska and Rutgers alongside wins over Ohio State, Penn State and Michigan.
Back on Saturday versus Rutgers, Wisconsin was down 36-34 going into the second half. The Badgers outscored the Knights 23-22 from there but still lost 58-57. Jordan Davis led the team on 14 points with four rebounds in 20 minutes of work.

I’ll probably take a stab on Iowa here. The Hawkeyes have been mixed bag over this 5-3 stretch, but they’ve taken out some pretty tough teams in that time including Northwestern, Illinois and Rutgers. These teams last met up way back on December 11 at Carver-Hawkeye Arena in a 78-75 overtime road win for Wisconsin. The Badgers are a sketchy 2-3 in their last five games and they’ve failed to hit 65 points in four of those games. A decent offensive performance and 70 points or so from Iowa will probably do it here. I think the Hawkeyes will pull it off.
