Bryant vs UMass-Lowell Pick – Basketball Predictions & Odds 2/15/23

The UMass Lowell River Hawks and the Bryant Bulldogs meet Wednesday in college basketball action from Chace Athletic Center. UMass Lowell is currently 20-7 on the year. UMass Lowell River Hawks

UMass Lowell got off to a pretty nice 16-4 start over the first 20 games of the year. The River Hawks are 4-3 since then with wins over Bryant, Albany, NJIT and Hartford alongside losses to Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont. 

In the Vermont game on Saturday, the River Hawks were drilled 46-29 in the first half. UMass Lowell got better from there on a 52-47 run but still lost 93-81. Everette Hammond led the team on 29 points and Ayinde Hikim posted 18 points with five assists. 

Bryant Bulldogs 

Over on the Bryant side, they kicked off the year with a 12-6 run over the first 18 games. The Bulldogs are also 4-3 in their last seven with wins over NJIT, Maine, New Hampshire and Albany. The losses were to UMass Lowell, Binghamton and UMBC. 

Matched up against UMBC on Saturday, the Bulldogs took a 40-33 deficit into the second half. Bryant hit a 40-36 advantage from there but ended up falling 76-73. Sherif Kenney was the leading team scorer on 39 points and four rebounds.

I’m going to stick with Bryant. The Bulldogs are coming off a bad first half in the UMBC loss on Saturday, which snapped a three-game win streak. The good news for Bryant is that they’re still scoring well with 67 or more points in 10 straight games. When these teams last met up on January 22 at Costello Athletic Center, UMass Lowell cruised to a 98-79 victory thanks to a 57-31 advantage in the first half. Bryant is going to have to play a complete game in order to get some revenge, but I think the Bulldogs are up for the cover challenge.
