The Manhattan Jaspers and the Canisius Golden Griffins meet in college basketball action from the Koessler Athletic Center on Sunday afternoon.

The Manhattan Jaspers will look to rebound from an 80-74 loss in OT at the hands of Niagara last time out. Jose Perez leads the Jaspers in scoring and assists with 18.8 PPG and 4.7 APG while Ant Nelson has 10.6 PPG with 2.8 RPG to make up the pair of double-digit scorers for Manhattan this season. Warren Williams has 8.9 PPG and Josh Roberts also has 7.4 PPG with a team-high 5.4 RPG to lead the Jaspers on the glass this season. As a team, Manhattan is averaging 72.3 PPG on 45.3% shooting from the field, 31.8% from three and 74.8% from the foul line while allowing 72.4 PPG on 46.4% from the field and 35.8% from three this season.

The Canisius Golden Griffins will try to snap a four-game losing skid after a 70-62 loss to Iona last time out. Armon Harried leads the Golden Griffins in scoring with 12.1 PPG along with 4 RPG while Malek Green has 10.3 PPG with 4.6 RPG and Jordan Henderson has 10.1 PPG to make up the trio of double-digit scorers for Canisius up to this point in the season. Ahamadou Fofana has a team-high 3.3 APG and Jacco Fritz has a team-high 5.7 RPG as well this season. As a team, Canisius is averaging 68.8 PPG on 40% shooting from the field, 31.1% from three and 68.3% from the foul line while allowing 72.2 PPG on 46.3% shooting from the field and 30% from three this season.

Manhattan is 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games against a team with a winning percentage below .400 and 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games following a loss while the over is 5-1 in their last 6 games against a team with a losing record. Canisius is 5-1 ATS in their last 6 home games and 6-1 ATS in their last 7 games against a team with a winning record while the under is 13-2-1 in their last 16 games overall.

I get the case to be made either way, but I think my stronger play here is the under. I have no idea why oddsmakers keep putting these totals in the 140s for two teams that continue to score into the 60s game in and game out like Canisius does. Even if the Jaspers hit the 70s, I still look for this game to finish under the number.
