The Merrimack Warriors and the Canisius Golden Griffins meet Friday in college basketball action from Koessler Athletic Center. Here’s a Canisius vs Merrimack prediction. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best Canisius vs Merrimack pick.
Merrimack Warriors Betting Preview
Merrimack beat Vermont in their opener this year, then hit a losing streak. The Warriors would fall to VCU, Princeton, Rutgers, Butler, UMass Lowell, and UTSA in succession before getting another win over Troy last Friday.
In the matchup with the Trojans, Merrimack held a 43-32 edge at the break. The Warriors had to hang on through a 36-29 deficit from there but still won 72-68. Devon Savage was the lead team scorer with 23 points and three boards. After this game, the Warriors will head on the road to take on Niagara.
Canisius Golden Griffins Betting Preview
Over on the Canisius side, they’ve come up empty in every game so far. The losses have been to Arizona, St. Bonaventure, Mercyhurst, SIU Edwardsville, Western Michigan, Maryland, Brown, and Robert Morris in succession.
Matched up against Robert Morris in their last appearance, Canisius sported a two-point lead going into the second half. The Griffins were outscored by 10 from there though, and lost 72-64. Dylan Godfrey was tops on 18 points with two rebounds.

Canisius vs Merrimack Prediction
I’ll probably just stay with Merrimack. There’s not a lot to get excited about if you’re not a fan of either team, though. The Warriors didn’t finish strong versus Troy and would ultimately get outmuscled on the boards 32-24 (12-3 offensive) alongside 14 turnovers. Merrimack shot well (55.1 percent) in that one, however. That makes 72 or more points in three straight games for the Warriors.
As for Canisius, they’ve been close a couple of times this year but it’s been a futile run thus far. The Griffins have given up 72 or more points in seven of their eight outings while hitting 70 points or more just twice themselves. Canisius may be able to hang around in this one for most of the game but I don’t think they’ll cover.
