The Oregon Ducks and the Chaminade Silverswords meet Monday in college basketball action from Mandalay Bay Events Center. Oregon is currently 2-1 on the year and coming off a blowout loss to BYU. As for Chaminade, they’ve got two wins under their belt in two games so far. Check back all season long for free college basketball picks at Sports Chat Place.

Oregon started out the year quite well over their first pair of games. The opener featured 47 second-half points in an 83-66 win over Texas Southern. In game two the Ducks kept it going with an 86-63 win over SMU.

Oregon hit the wall in game three against BYU. The Ducks were stunned with a 37-18 halftime deficit and couldn’t crawl back into it during an 81-49 blowout loss. Eric Williams led the team with his 12 points and three rebounds.

Over on the Chaminade side, they’ve begun the season at 2-0 so far. The Silverswords took out Alaska 77-65 in the opener, then kept it going against Alaska Anchorage on November 14 with a 62-47 victory. A matchup last week against Lincoln University was postponed and eventually cancelled, so it’s been a while since Chaminade has been on the floor in meaningful play.

Chaminade is 5-2 ATS in their last seven Monday games and the over is 23-10-1 in their last 34 overall. The over is 21-10-1 in the Silverswords’ last 32 at home.

Meanwhile, Oregon is 2-5 ATS in the last seven overall and 1-4 ATS in their last five as a favorite. The over is 5-0 in the Ducks’ last five road games.

PICK: I’m going to try Oregon here I suppose, but staying away. This is one of those strange matchups that looks lopsided on paper and results in a crazy thick line. In any case, the Ducks really need a bounce-back game after their ugly rout by BYU. Oregon shot just 32.1 percent with seven assists and 13 turnovers; BYU couldn’t do anything wrong. I like the Ducks to get back to business here and drill right through Chaminade in a frustration game.
