Clemson vs Miami Pick – Basketball Predictions & Odds 2/4/23

The Miami Hurricanes and the Clemson Tigers meet Saturday in college basketball action from Littlejohn Coliseum. Miami is 17-5 on the season so far and coming off a Tuesday win over Virginia Tech. Miami Hurricanes 

Miami hit a 13-2 run to start the year, losing only Maryland and Georgia Tech. The Hurricanes have since gone 4-3, taking wins over Boston College, Syracuse, Florida State and Virginia Tech alongside losses to NC State, Duke and Pittsburgh. 

In the Tuesday matchup versus Virginia Tech, Miami was up 45-44 going into the second half. The Hurricanes hit a 47-39 stretch in the second and took the win 92-83. Norchad Omier topped the team on 21 points and eight rebounds. 

Clemson Tigers

Over on the Clemson side, they were 13-3 after 16 games with losses to South Carolina, Iowa and Loyola IL. The Tigers are 5-2 in their last seven outings with wins over Louisville, Duke, Virginia Tech, Georgia Tech and Florida State. 

Clemson met Boston College in their last game on Tuesday. The Tigers were trailing 30-23 at the break and ultimately didn’t get any closer on 31 second-half points in a 62-54 loss. Hunter Tyson led the team on 22 points and eight rebounds. 

ANDREW’S FREE PICK 

I’ll probably stick with Miami in this one. The Hurricanes have been spotty in the win column during this 4-3 run, but they’ve faced some tricky teams in that time. Miami has at least been scoring well; they’ve hit 68 or more points in eight of their last nine outings. As for Clemson, they didn’t play all that well versus Boston College in their last matchup, and that takes some of the luster off this Saturday game. That said, I like the Tigers to post a strong effort here in an eventual Miami cover/win. Should be a fun game to watch.
