The Seton Hall Pirates and the Colorado Buffaloes meet Tuesday in NIT college basketball action from Coors Events Center. Seton Hall enters this one at 17-15 overall this year. The Pirates lost to DePaul in the conference tournament last Wednesday. As for Colorado, they’re sitting at 17-16 on the season after a Pac-12 Tournament loss to UCLA last week. Seton Hall Pirates

Seton Hall managed a 17-14 record across the regular season. That run finished on a sketchy 2-5 stretch with losses to Creighton, Villanova, UConn, Xavier and Villanova again. The Pirates managed a seven-seed in the Big East Tournament and matched up against DePaul.

In the DePaul game back on Wednesday, the Pirates were down 32-28 going into the second half. Seton Hall made a comeback on a 37-34 run from there but ended up losing 66-65. Tyrese Samuel led the team with a double-double on 16 points and 12 rebounds.

Colorado Buffaloes

Over on the Colorado side, they were 16-15 overall by season’s end. The Buffaloes lost three of their final four games to Arizona, USC and UCLA, but they were able to win their first game of the Pac-12 Tournament over Washington 74-68.

Last Thursday versus UCLA in game two of the conference tourney, the Buffaloes held a slim 38-37 edge going into the second half. Colorado was outscored 43-31 from there however and lost 80-69. Tristan da Silva led the team with his 17 points and six boards.

ANDREW’S FREE PICK

I’ll probably stick with Colorado here. The Buffaloes couldn’t quite hang with a good UCLA team in their last game, but they did shoot 51 percent from the floor and 43.5 percent from 3-point range. Colorado is just 2-4 in their last six outings but they’ve done reasonably well against some tough teams in that time. As for Seton Hall, they shot 50 percent against DePaul with 34 rebounds. That said, the Pirates also hit just 4-of-15 (26.7 percent) from 3-point range, went 11-of-18 (61.1 percent) from the line and had 14 turnovers. This should be a winnable game for both teams and should also be a competitive affair. I like the Buffaloes to power it out, though.

Andrew's Free Pick: Colorado Buffaloes -5
