The Tennessee Volunteers and the Colorado Buffaloes meet Saturday in college basketball action from Coors Events Center. Tennessee sits at 5-1 so far. The Vols are coming off a win over Presbyterian in their last game. As for Colorado, they saw a three-game win streak snapped by UCLA in their last appearance. Tennessee began their season with two wins over TN-Martin and East Tennessee State. The Volunteers lost their first game versus Villanova, but bounced back with wins over North Carolina, Tennessee Tech and Presbyterian.

In the win over Presbyterian on Tuesday, the Volunteers posted a 45-21 advantage going into the break and cruised to an 86-44 blowout victory. Both Kennedy Chandler and Justin Powell turned in 15 points apiece, with a combined 10 assists.

Over on the Colorado side, they won their first three over Montana State, New Mexico and Maine before a loss to Southern Illinois. Three more wins over Duquesne, Brown and Stanford came afterward, then a loss to UCLA on Wednesday.

The Buffaloes trailed UCLA 39-23 in the first half of their last game, and ultimately couldn’t get much closer in a 73-61 result. Jabari Walker doubled up in that one with 22 points and 11 rebounds, and Eli Parquet put up 11 points.

The Buffaloes are 0-3-1 ATS in the last four at home and 0-4 ATS in their last four after an ATS win. Colorado is 2-6-1 ATS in their last nine overall.

Meanwhile, the Vols are 1-3-1 ATS in their last five road games and 1-7 ATS in their last eight after an ATS win. Tennessee is 0-5 ATS in their last five Saturday games.

PICK: I’m probably staying with the Volunteers in this one. Tennessee didn’t have much trouble versus Presbyterian in their last game, shooting 55.9 percent from the field with 14-of-27 (51.9 percent) from 3-point range. The Volunteers took good care of the ball in that one with just eight turnovers (to the Hose’s 25).

As for Colorado, there wasn’t much they could do against UCLA after that bad first half. The team finished pretty well, though. That said, if Tennessee can get their offense cooking early in this matchup I don’t think the Buffaloes will be able to keep up.
