The North Dakota State Bison and the Creighton Bluejays meet in college basketball action from the Chi Health Center Omaha on Saturday afternoon.

North Dakota State Improves To 2-0

The North Dakota State Bison come into this one looking for a huge upset to build on their 2-0 start to the year after a 93-66 win over subdivision Mt. Marty last time out. Boden Skunberg leads the Bison in scoring with 21 PPG along with 5 RPG and 1.5 SPG while Jacari White has 12 PPG and Andrew Morgan has 11 PPG with a team-high 9 RPG to lead the Bison on the glass and to round out the trio of double-digit scorers for North Dakota State on the year. Damari Wheeler-Thomas also has 7 PPG with a team-high 3 APG to lead the Bison in the assist department this season. As a team, North Dakota State is averaging 86.5 PPG on 44.8% shooting from the field, 36.7% from three and 60% from the foul line this season.

Creighton Stomps Florida A&M

The Creighton Bluejays started the year with a 105-54 win over Florida A&M. Trey Alexander led the way with 20 points on 7 of 8 shooting with a pair of threes and a team-high 5 assists while Steven Ashworth added 17 points on 6 of 9 shooting with 5 threes and 4 assists in 18 minutes. Baylor Scheierman added 15 points on 5 of 18 shooting with 8 rebounds while Isaac Traudt added 12 points on 4 of 10 shooting with 3 threes and 6 rebounds to cap off the group of double-digit scorers for Creighton in the win. Fredrick King added a team-high 9 rebounds while Mason Miller chipped in 8 boards as well in the victory. As a team, Creighton shot 56.7% from the field, 47.4% from three and 68.8% from the foul line.

I’m on the Bluejays here. North Dakota State’s had a nice start to the year, but I can tell you from watching Creighton basketball, the last couple of years, all Creighton has done in these early non-conference games against lesser foes is show up and show out and win these games in emphatic fashion. I honestly look for more of the same here as I just don’t think North Dakota State will have the answers, so give me Creighton laying the big number.
