The Boston University Terriers and the Davidson Wildcats meet in college basketball action from the Belk Arena on Tuesday night. Let’s take a look at our prediction for Boston U vs. Davidson.
Boston U Gets First Win
The Boston University Terriers come into this one looking to build on their first win of the season after a 95-79 win over Bryant last time out. Kyrone Alexander leads the Terriers in scoring with 10 PPG along with 3 RPG as the lone double-digit scorer for Boston U up to this point in the year while Miles Brewster has 8.3 PPG with 4 RPG and a team-high 2.8 APG and 2.2 SPG to lead the Terriers in assists and steals this season. Otto Landrum also has 7.8 PPG with a team-high 5.5 RPG to lead Boston U on the glass and Ethan Okwuosa also has 7.8 PPG with 4.8 RPG as well this season. As a team, Boston University is averaging 62.8 PPG on 37.9% shooting from the field, 34% from three and 68.3% from the foul line this season.
Davidson Drops Back-To-Back Games
The Davidson Wildcats come into this one looking to rebound from back-to-back defeats after a 70-68 loss to East Tennessee State last time out. Bobby Durkin leads the Wildcats in scoring with 12.3 PPG along with 3.3 RPG while David Skogman has 11.3 PPG with a team-high 6 RPG as the only other double-digit scorer for Davidson up to this point in the year. Reed Bailey has 9.3 PPG with 5 RPG while Grant Huffman has 8.5 PPG with 6 RPG of his own as well as a team-high 4.5 APG to lead the Wildcats in assists this season. Angelo Brizzi also has 8.5 PPG with 2.5 APG and 2.5 SPG. As a team, Davidson is averaging 70.8 PPG on 41.4% shooting from the field, 34.7% from three and 73.3% from the foul line this season.
I’m backing Davidson at home here. The Wildcats are just the much-easier and more consistent team offensively and have had more success against a much-tougher schedule. Boston U just hasn’t been able to keep up offensively for much of the year and I think the Bryant result was an anomaly more than anything else. Give me the Wildcats here.
