Duke vs Boston College 12/3/22 Basketball Picks, Predictions, Odds

The Boston College Eagles and the Duke Blue Devils meet Saturday in college basketball action from Cameron Indoor Stadium. Boston College is 5-3 overall and coming off a loss to Nebraska. Boston College posted wins in their first two games over Cornell and Detroit. The Eagles lost to Maine and Tarleton State (with a win over George Mason) in their next three, then beat Wyoming and Rhode Island in the next pair. 

Boston College took another loss Wednesday, this time to Nebraska. The Eagles were down 37-34 by halftime and gave up 51 second-half points in an 88-67 loss. Leading the scoring was Devin McGlockton with 20 points and 11 rebounds. 

Over on the Duke side, they beat Jacksonville and USC Upstate in their first pair before a loss to Kansas. Duke beat Delaware, Bellarmine, Oregon State and Xavier in their next four, then fell to Purdue 75-56. 

On Wednesday versus Ohio State, Duke managed another win. The Devils had a 10-point advantage going into the second half and held strong for an 81-72 win. Leading the way for Duke was Kyle Filipowski with 16 points and seven boards.

PICK: I’m probably going to stay with Duke. The Blue Devils are fresh off a solid win over a very good Ohio State team. Duke shot 45.5 percent from the field with 34 rebounds and—most importantly—a nice 26-of-30 (86.7 percent) from the line. It was a nice bounce-back effort after the 19-point blowout loss to Purdue. 

As for Boston College, they were pretty ineffective in their last game versus a hot-shooting Nebraska. The Cornhuskers shot a blistering 61.5 percent from the field and 52.2 percent (12-of-23) from 3-point range in a wild onslaught. Duke (probably) won’t be shooting that well, but on paper it’s going to be another tough game for the Eagles.
