Fordham vs Dayton 1/10/23 College Basketball Picks, Predictions, Odds

The Dayton Flyers and the Fordham Rams meet Tuesday in college basketball action from Rose Hill Gym. Dayton enters this one at 11-5 on the season. The Flyers took out Saint Joseph’s on Wednesday in their last game. As for Fordham, they’re currently 13-3 after a win over Saint Joseph’s on Saturday. Dayton went 5-5 over their first 10 games this year, beating SMU, Lindenwood, Robert Morris, Western Michigan and SE Louisiana. The Flyers have beaten UNC Asheville, Wyoming, Alcorn State, Duquesne, Davidson and Saint Joseph’s since then. 

In the Saint Joseph’s game last Wednesday, the Flyers managed a 38-30 advantage going into the second half. Dayton scored another 38 points from there and won it 76-56. DaRon Holmes was tops with a double-double on 20 points and 12 boards. 

Over on the Fordham side, they opened the year with a 12-1 run featuring only a loss to Arkansas. In their last three games the Rams have lost to Davidson and Rhode Island and beaten Saint Joseph’s. 

Matched up against Saint Joseph’s on Saturday, Fordham held a 32-32 tie at the break. The Rams posted a 34-22 run in the second half and won it 66-54. Darius Quisenberry led the team on 15 points with five rebounds. 

PICK: I’m going to try Dayton here. The Flyers are hot right now with this six-game win streak. Dayton has scored 66 or more points in each of those games while allowing 57 or fewer in each as well. As for Fordham, they started a little slow in the Saint Joseph’s matchup but things worked out and the team halted their skid. The Rams have 66 or more points in all but two games so far this year, so it wouldn’t be surprising to see a high total in this matchup. Should be a competitive game and a fun one to watch.
