The Chicago State Cougars and the Grand Canyon Antelopes meet Thursday in college basketball action from GCU Arena. Chicago State is 4-9 so far this year. The Cougars lost to Drake in their last game. As for Grand Canyon, they’re sitting at 10-2 and coming off a win versus San Francisco. Chicago State won their first pair of games this year before hitting a five-game losing streak. Since then the Cougars are 2-4 with wins over Tennessee State and IUPUI alongside losses to Illinois State, Northern Illinois, Iowa State and Drake.
In the Drake game, Chicago State scored just 25 points in each half on the way to an 87-50 blowout loss. Coreyoun Rushin led the team on 13 points, and Jahsean Corbett added nine points with nine rebounds.
Over on the Grand Canyon side, they went 3-1 over their first four outings with a loss to Wyoming. The Antelopes hit a 5-1 stretch after that with a loss to Arizona State. Since then it’s been wins over Ottawa AZ and San Francisco.

PICK: I’m going to stick with Grand Canyon. The Antelopes have had some very close calls within their 12 games, and overall they’re closing out games well to get the victories. Grand Canyon has hit 74 or more points in four of their last six outings, so they can certainly score when prompted.
As for Chicago State, they’ve been at 61 or fewer points in each of their last four games. I don’t think the Cougars will be able to keep up at all in this one.
