High Point Panthers Betting Preview

The High Point Panthers are 12-3 (0-0) this year after they lost to Norfolk State by a score of 77-74 in their last game. Chase Johnston led High Point with 24 points and two rebounds, while Kimani Hamilton added 18 points and 15 rebounds in the game.

Prior to that game, the Panthers defeated Southern Illinois by a score of 94-81 and a non-D-1 team by a score of 99-31. High Point has won four of their last five games and their other two losses came against Missouri State and UNC Greensboro. High Point has scored 77.6 points per game and they have allowed 64.8 points per game, while also averaging 34.9 rebounds and 13.0 assists per game this season. D’Maurian Williams is averaging 14.9 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 3.0 assists per game, while Kezza Giffa is averaging 14.1 points, 2.6 rebounds, and 2.2 assists per game this season. High Point is shooting 47.9% from the field, 75% on free throws, and 35.7% on three-pointers this year.

Radford Highlanders Betting Preview

The Radford Highlanders are 10-5 (0-0) this season after they lost to South Carolina by a score of 74-48 in their last game. Radford led 36-30 at halftime, but they were outscored 44-12 in the second half for the blowout loss. The Highlanders shot 34.5% from the field, 16.7% on three-pointers, and 61.5% on free throws in the game. TJ NeSmith led Radford with 14 points and five rebounds, while Jarvis Moss added 10 points and four rebounds in the game.

Prior to that loss, the Highlanders defeated a non-D-1 team by a score of 122-63 but did lose to Colorado State by a score of 78-68 before that. Radford has lost three of their last four games, but they did win the previous five games before that. Radford has scored 75.1 points per game and they have allowed 71.0 points per game, while also averaging 38.9 rebounds and 12.3 assists per game this season. Jarvis Moss is averaging 15.3 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 1.7 assists per game, while Brandon Maclin is averaging 9.1 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 2.8 assists per game this year. Radford is shooting 44.3% from the field, 72.4% on free throws, and 34.7% on three-pointers this season.

Why Radford will beat High Point

  • Radford has won 12 of its last 13 Thursday night road games against the Big South Conference.
  • Radford has won the first half in nine of its last 12 games against High Point.

High Point vs Radford Prediction

High Point has started the season by playing extremely well, but they are coming off of a loss in their last game. The Panthers have been very strong defensively, as they are allowing just 64.8 points per game this year. Radford has also been solid to open the year, but they played a very ugly second half against South Carolina last time out. The Highlanders are only shooting 44.3% from the field, but they have played a tougher schedule. This should be a very good matchup to open conference play, but I have to side with Radford and the points on the road.
