The Kansas State Wildcats will travel to Allen Fieldhouse to take on the 6th ranked Kansas Jayhawks this Tuesday night in College Basketball action.

The Kansas State Wildcats had their 2-game winning streak snapped and dropped to 14-12 on the season after being defeated by the Oklahoma State Cowboys, 82-79 (OT), this past Saturday. Kansas State was able to fight back from a 63-56 deficit with 3:55 left in regulation to force OT, however, the Cowboys were able to pull off the victory in OT after Avery Anderson III hit a game-winning three-pointer for Oklahoma State with just :03 seconds left in OT. Kansas State shot just 35.7% from the field & 40.6% from beyond the arc while allowing Oklahoma State to shoot 51.9% from the field & 40.9% from beyond the arc. Leading the way for the Wildcats was Mark Smith who had a double-double with 15 points, 10 rebounds, 4 assists, & 2 steals.

On the season, Kansas State is averaging 68.3 ppg on 41.6% shooting from the field. The Wildcats are averaging 8.2 three-pointers per game on 34.3% shooting from beyond the arc. Offensively, Kansas State has been led by Nijel Pack (17.5 ppg, 3.9 rpg, 2.4 apg, 1.4 spg), Mark Smith (12.3 ppg, 8.6 rpg, 1.8 apg, 1.1 spg), Markquis Nowell (12.1 ppg, 3.4 rpg, 5.0 apg, 2.3 spg), & Selton Miguel (7.2 ppg, 4.5 rpg, 1.6 apg).

Defensively, Kansas State is holding their opponents to an average of 65.0 ppg on 41.6% shooting from the field. The Wildcats have a rebound margin of -1.5 and a turnover margin of 1.9.

The 6th ranked Kansas Jayhawks won their 3rd straight game and improved to 22-4 on the season after defeating the West Virginia Mountaineers, 71-58, this past Saturday. Kansas was outstanding defensively against West Virginia and was able to pull away in the 2nd half after taking a 60-48 lead with 5:11 left in regulation. Kansas shot 48.1% from the field & 27.3% from beyond the arc while holding West Virginia to just 27.9% shooting from the field & 30.0% from beyond the arc. Leading the way for the Jayhawks was David McCormack who had a double-double with 19 points, 11 rebounds, & 2 assists.

On the season, Kansas is averaging 79.2 ppg on 49.2% shooting from the field. The Jayhawks are averaging 7.1 three-pointers per game on 35.5% shooting from beyond the arc. Offensively, Kansas has been led by Ochai Agbaji (20.0 ppg, 5.1 rpg, 1.6 apg), Christian Braun (15.0 ppg, 5.9 rpg, 2.9 apg, 1.1 spg), Jalen Wilson (10.4 ppg, 7.3 rpg, 1.7 apg), & David McCormack (9.8 ppg, 7.1 rpg, 1.0 apg, 1.0 bpg).

Defensively, Kansas is allowing their opponents to average 67.7 ppg on 41.5% shooting from the field. The Jayhawks have a rebound margin of 6.1 and are averaging 6.4 steals per game.

The Wildcats are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games & 7-2 ATS in their last 9 games on the road. The Jayhawks are 4-2 ATS in their last 6 games, however, are just 12-14 ATS overall on the season.

Kansas has won 5 of their last 7 games and has been led by their offense which ranks 24th in scoring offense & 6th in FG%. Kansas State has been led by their defense which ranks 60th in scoring defense, 98th in defensive FG%, & 78th in turnover margin, however, Kansas State can struggle at times on the offensive end as they come into this game ranked just 253rd in scoring offense & 294th in FG%. Kansas is no doubt the better team, however, Kansas State was competitive in a 78-75 loss at home against Kansas earlier this season and as I think the Wildcats defense will be able to keep this game competitive, I’m taking Kansas State and the double-digits points. Good Luck!
