Binghamton took wins in their first two games of the year. The Bearcats took out Cazenovia and Marist in that pair. The second two matchups didn’t go so well for Binghamton, however; they lost to Maryland and Sacred Heart in those games.
On Wednesday versus Columbia, Binghamton got back into the win column. The Bearcats were up 41-39 at the break and held on for the 81-79 result. Jacob Falko led the team on 24 points, while Christian Hinckson posted 20 points.
Over on the La Salle side, they hit a 2-2 run over their first four games. The Explorers kicked it off with a loss to Villanova and a win over Wagner 77-69. The next pair was a win over Queens NC and a loss to Wake Forest 75-63.
On Sunday versus Georgetown, the Explorers were able to score just 21 points in the first half. La Salle got much better in the second with 41 points but still lost 69-62. Jhamir Brickus put up 14 points, and Anwar Gill added 13 points with seven boards.
PICK: I’ll probably try Binghamton here. This will likely be a pretty close matchup though, so I’m not going near it. That said, the Bearcats have done a solid job at scoring in comparable matchups this year, posting 78 or more points in three of five games. Considering La Salle has 68 or more points in three of their five games, this one should be a fairly high-scoring affair if both teams are on point. I like Binghamton to eke into a cover in a competitive game.
