Navy led by a 27-17 margin at halftime and was able to hold off a late American University charge after taking a 44-39 lead with 2:11 left in regulation. Navy shot 32.7% from the field & 5.6% from beyond the arc while allowing American University to shoot 38.5% from the field & 20.0% from beyond the arc. Leading the way for the Midshipmen was John Carter Jr. who had 14 points, 8 rebounds, 5 assists, & 3 steals.

On the season, Navy is averaging 66.7 ppg on 44.9% shooting from the field. The Midshipmen are averaging 6.0 three-pointers per game on 33.4% shooting from beyond the arc. Offensively, Navy has been led by John Carter Jr. (13.5 ppg, 4.5 rpg, 1.4 apg, 1.1 spg), Greg Summers (9.9 ppg, 5.2 rpg, 2.2 apg, 1.2 spg), Tyler Nelson (8.1 ppg, 4.3 rpg, 1.0 bpg), & Daniel Deaver (7.8 ppg, 3.7 rpg).

Defensively, Navy is holding their opponents to an average of 60.5 ppg on 41.6% shooting from the field. The Midshipmen have a rebound margin of 5.5 and a turnover margin of 0.9.

The Lehigh Mountain Hawks dropped to 8-14 on the season after defeating by the Holy Cross Crusaders, 67-65, this past Friday night. Lehigh led by a 50-42 margin with just 9:42 left in regulation, however, the Mountain Hawks offense stalled out the rest of the way and Lehigh could not fight back after Holy Cross took a 62-58 lead with 1:38 left in regulation. Lehigh shot 39.6% from the field & 52.9% from beyond the arc while allowing Holy Cross to shoot 40.7% from the field & 40.0% from beyond the arc. Leading the way for the Mountain Hawks was Jeameril Wilson who had a double-double with 16 points, 13 rebounds, 2 assists, & 1 block.

On the season, Lehigh is averaging 67.5 ppg on 44.4% shooting from the field. The Mountain Hawks are averaging 7.6 three-pointers per game on 37.0% shooting from beyond the arc. Offensively, Lehigh has been led by Evan Taylor (14.0 ppg, 6.1 rpg, 1.3 apg, 1.1 bpg), Jeameril Wilson (11.6 ppg, 5.2 rpg, 2.0 apg), Keith Higgins Jr. (9.3 ppg, 2.6 rpg, 2.2 apg), & Marcus Wilson (7.9 ppg, 2.5 rpg, 1.6 apg).

Defensively, Lehigh is allowing their opponents to average 71.3 ppg on 42.9% shooting from the field. The Mountain Hawks have a rebound margin of -2.1 and a turnover margin of -3.9.

The Midshipmen are 5-0 ATS in their last 5 games after allowing less than 50 points in their previous game & 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games following a ATS loss. The Mountain Hawks are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 games following a straight up loss & 4-0 ATS in their last 4 Wednesday games.

Navy has been led by their defense this season which comes into this game ranked t-18th in scoring defense & 101st in defensive FG%, however, the Midshipmen have struggled to put points up on the board and come into this matchup ranked just 290th in scoring offense. Lehigh has struggled a bit on both ends of the court this season and currently rank just 275th in scoring offense, 161st in FG%, & 237th in scoring defense.

Navy is coming off a tougher than expected win against American University, however, there is no doubt that the Midshipmen are the better team in this one. Navy has been impressive on the road this season, which includes a win at Virginia, and as the Navy defense should give a Lehigh team that can struggle scoring the ball trouble, I think that John Carter Jr and the Navy offense does enough to cover this midrange road spread. Good Luck!
