Longwood vs Radford 2/23/22 College Basketball Picks, Predictions, Odds

The Radford Highlanders and the Longwood Lancers meet Wednesday in college basketball action from Willett Hall. Radford is 10-16 on the year. The Highlanders beat High Point in their last game. Radford hit a 4-4 run in their first eight games this year but it would be a long while before the team saw consecutive wins again. The Highlanders are sitting on a three-game win streak over Hampton, Campbell and High Point, however. 

In the High Point matchup on Saturday, the Highlanders posted a three-point advantage in the first half. Radford was outscored 31-31 from there but hung on for the 66-64 win. Josiah Jeffers was tops with his 17 points and five rebounds.

Over on the Longwood side, their year began at 7-5 through a dozen games. Longwood has been on a nice 14-1 stretch since then. Over their last three games, Longwood has beaten High Point twice and Hampton once for a win streak. 

Matched up against Hampton on Saturday, the Lancers were down 34-35 by halftime. Longwood hit a 42-37 run in the second half to salvage the 76-72 victory. Isaiah Wilkins led the team with 25 points and nine rebounds. 

The Lancers are 16-5 ATS in their last 21 at home and 13-6 ATS in their last 19 overall. Longwood is 4-0 ATS in their last four Wednesday games. 

Meanwhile, the Lancers are 4-15 ATS in their last 19 after an ATS loss and 8-22 ATS in their last 30 overall. Longwood is 1-4 ATS in their last five road games. 

PICK: I’m going to stay with Longwood. Outside of a 70-62 loss to North Carolina A&T on February 12, the Lancers have taken out all comers in this calendar year. Longwood is also scoring quite well these days; they’ve hit 69 or more points in 10 of the last 12 games. 

As for Radford, they’re looking better over their own three-game win streak but they’ve only eclipsed 66 points once in that trio. I like Longwood to get out and running here in a high-scoring cover.
