Marquette vs North Carolina Central Eagles 12/6/22 College Basketball Picks, Predictions, Odds

The NC Central Eagles and the Marquette Golden Eagles meet Tuesday in college basketball action from Fiserv Forum. NC Central is 5-4 overall this year. The Eagles beat St. Andrews in their last game. NC Central lost their first three games of the year to Virginia, Appalachian State and Liberty. The Eagles would then hit a win streak over MACU, Montreat, Gardner-Webb and UNC Asheville before another loss to Radford. 

The Eagles were able to bounce back in their Saturday game versus St. Andrews. NC Central scored 63 points in the first and 64 from there in a 127-40 win. Ja’Darius Harris led the way on 18 points, and Cameron Butler doubled with 13 points and 10 boards. 

Over on the Marquette side, they went 3-1 over their first four games this year, taking out Radford, Central Michigan and LIU in that time. Marquette would then hit another 3-1 stretch with wins versus Georgia Tech, Chicago State and Baylor. 

On Saturday versus Wisconsin, the Golden Eagles came back from a 41-30 halftime deficit. After overtime however, Marquette ended up losing 80-77. Kameron Jones led the team on 26 points with six boards. 

PICK: I’ll probably stay with Marquette. The Golden Eagles are coming off a game versus Wisconsin that they probably should have won, however. Marquette shot a nice 50.9 percent from the field in that one, but they were out-rebounded 32-26 (10-7 offensive) and shot a sketchy 14-of-20 (70 percent) from the line. I do like the Golden Eagles to bounce back in this one, though. As for NC Central, they’ve put up some pretty decent offensive outings in their last half-dozen games or so. The Eagles should hang around for a good chunk of the game but I still like Marquette on the cover.
