The Kansas City Roos will try to snap a four-game losing streak after a 93-83 OT loss to Brown last time out. Entering Saturday’s matchup, Anderson Kopp leads the Roos in scoring and assists with 13.8 PPG, 3.6 APG and 4.4 RPG while Jamar Brown has 13.4 PPG with  a team-high 5.8 RPG as the Roos’ leading rebounder and the only other double-digit scorer for Kansas City so far this season. The Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders will try to rebound from an 80-67 loss to Ohio in their last matchup. Going into Saturday, Elias King leads the Blue Raiders in scoring with 13.3 PPG along with 5.3 RPG while Jestin Porter has 10.2 PPG with 3.5 RPG as well. Camryn Weston has 11 PPG with 4.5 RPG and 3.5 APG in two games to cap off the scoring in double figures for Middle Tennessee so far this season. Justin Bufford also has 9.2 PPG and Jared Coleman-Jones has 6.7 PPG with a team-high 6.8 RPG to lead Middle Tennessee on the glass this season. As a team, Middle Tennessee is averaging 65 PPG on 39.9% shooting from the field, 27.7% from three and 66.4% from the foul line this season.

I’m backing Middle Tennessee here. I get why it would be worth a look to consider UMKC, but the problem with the Roos is that they’re not scoring much more efficiently than Middle Tennessee, but the defense for KC is atrocious compared to Middle Tennessee’s who actually play competent defense. I just can’t get on the Roos here, so give me the Blue Raiders to finish the tournament on a winning note.
