The James Madison Dukes and the Morgan State Bears meet Friday in college basketball action from Hill Field House. James Madison is currently undefeated through 11 games so far. The Dukes took out Coppin State in their last outing. As for Morgan State, they’re sitting at 4-9 on the season and coming off a loss to Campbell. James Madison Dukes 

The Dukes haven’t had too many issues so far this year—outside of a few close calls on the scoreboard. James Madison has taken out Michigan State, Kent State, Howard, Radford, Southern Illinois, Fresno State, Buffalo, Keystone, Old Dominion, Hampton and Coppin State in their first 11 outings. 

In the matchup versus Coppin State back on Tuesday, the Dukes jumped out to a dominant 49-26 edge at the break. James Madison kept the pressure on during the second half with a 38-22 run in an 87-48 blowout victory. Tops in scoring was TJ Bickerstaff with 18 points and seven rebounds with four steals. 

Morgan State Bears 

Over on the Morgan State side, they started out pretty well with a 2-1 run in their first trio. The Bears would then hit a losing streak versus Fresno State, BYU, Radford, Chicago State, Towson, High Point and Longwood in the next seven outings. Morgan State would rebound with wins over UMBC and Virginia-Lynchburg from there, however. 

The Bears fell back into the loss column in their last game versus Campbell. In that one, Morgan State took a one-point lead into the locker room but couldn’t hang on in an eventual 83-76 defeat. Leading the scoring was Amahrie Simpkins with 23 points, four rebounds and two steals. 

ANDREW’S FREE JAMES MADISON VS MORGAN STATE PREDICTION 

I’ll stick with James Madison. The Dukes haven’t shown a lot of weaknesses so far this year, and they’re playing great basketball. In their latest outing versus Coppin State, James Madison managed a nice 50 percent shooting from the field with 35 rebounds and 22 steals. That makes 76 or more points in every game this year, and 81 or more in nine of 11 outings. 

As for Morgan State, they started out pretty well in their last matchup versus Campbell but didn’t have the legs to finish the win. The Bears are likely going to give up a ton of points in this one as well and I don’t think they’ll finish too close.
