The Griffins beat Niagara in their last game. As for Mount St. Mary’s, they’re currently 12-19 after a win over Manhattan on Saturday. Canisius Golden Griffins
In the Golden Griffins’ first 21 games this year, they stumbled to a 5-16 record overall. Canisius finished off with a 5-3 stretch with wins over Quinnipiac, Rider, Saint Peter’s, Fairfield and Niagara among losses to Marist, Iona and Mount St. Mary’s.
On Saturday versus Niagara, Canisius got off to a 37-20 halftime edge. The Griffins were outscored 48-44 from there but still won easily 81-68. Tahj Staveskie led the way on 24 points and six rebounds, while Jordan Henderson added 17 points.
Mount St. Mary’s Mountaineers
Over on the Mount St. Mary’s side, they were just 8-16 following their first 24 games this season. The Mountaineers finished with a 4-3 run, taking wins over Niagara, Canisius, Rider and Manhattan with losses to Siena, Fairfield and Iona otherwise.
In Saturday’s game versus Manhattan, the Mountaineers went into the second half with a 42-30 edge. Mount St. Mary’s had to scramble a bit in the second but ended up with the win 74-69. Jalen Benjamin led the team on 21 points, and Dakota Leffew added 16 points.

I’ll probably take a stab on Canisius here. It should be a great matchup regardless, however. The Griffins have played much better during this 5-1 stretch and they’re currently sitting on a three-game win streak. Canisius has scored 66 or more points in five of the last six outings and should put up a decent total in this one. Mount St. Mary’s has won both matchups between these teams this season: a road win 64-60 on January 2 and a home victory 75-74 back on February 19. I like Canisius to extract a little revenge in this one and cover/win along the way.
