The Oklahoma State Cowboys and the Northwestern Wildcats meet Thursday in college basketball action from United Center. Here’s a Northwestern vs Oklahoma State prediction. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best Northwestern vs Oklahoma State. pick.
Oklahoma State Cowboys Betting Preview
It’s been smooth sailing thus far for the Cowboys. Oklahoma State has played six games this year and all six have been victories. The opener was a blowout win over Oral Roberts, then came a win over Texas A&M in game two. Next was a big win over Prairie View then a sizable win over Texas A&M-CC and an eight-point victory over South Florida. Oklahoma State’s most recent win came versus Nicholls this past weekend. That gives the Cowboys a 6-0 run on the season so far.
Back on Saturday versus Nicholls in their most recent outing, the Cowboys went into the second half with a sizable 47-32 advantage. Oklahoma State was outscored 49-48 the rest of the way, cruising to the win 95-81 in the end. Jaylen Curry notched a double-double on 30 points with 10 assists and six boards to lead the way. Parsa Fallah added 12 points, and Ryan Crotty had 11 points in 15 minutes of work on the floor during the victory for the Cowboys.
Northwestern Wildcats Betting Preview
Over on the Northwestern side, they got off to a nice start this season. The Wildcats would register wins in each of their first four games. Those came versus Mercyhurst, Boston U, Cleveland State and DePaul in succession. Northwestern took their first loss of the year by five points versus Virginia, then powered out a victory versus South Carolina in their most recent appearance. In all that gives Northwestern a 5-1 record across the first half-dozen games.
Matched up against South Carolina in Sunday’s game, the Wildcats held a slim two-point lead at halftime. Northwestern hit a 43-43 run the rest of the way and took the tight victory 79-77. Leading the team in the win was Nick Martinelli with 25 points, seven rebounds and two assists. Max Green added 13 points in just 11 minutes, and Arrinten Page had 10 points with six assists and three boards.

Northwestern vs Oklahoma State Prediction
I’ll probably stay with Oklahoma State in this one. The Cowboys were able to handle a winless Nicholls State team pretty easily in their last outing, thanks to 52.5 percent shooting from the field, 40 percent (8-of-20) from 3-point range and 25-of-27 (92.6 percent) from the line. Oklahoma State notched 33 rebounds and 46 points in the paint as well; the only real blemish was the 15 turnovers. The Cowboys have scored very well so far this year, notching 85 or more points in all six games.
As for Northwestern, they powered out the win over a pretty good South Carolina team on Sunday. The Wildcats shot a nice 56.6 percent from the field and 12-of-14 (85.7 percent) from the line but also got out-rebounded 28-22 along the way. Northwestern is scoring pretty well this year also, with 70 or more points in every game. I could see the Wildcats potentially giving Oklahoma State some trouble; should be a fun one to watch.
