Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets
The Yellow Jackets started off on a reasonable 8-3 clip this year, but they’ve only been able to win two games since December 22. Georgia Tech is just 1-6 in their last seven outings, falling to Virginia, Pittsburgh, Virginia Tech, NC State, Wake Forest and Louisville in that stretch.
In the Louisville game on Saturday, the Yellow Jackets went into the second half with a slim lead 32-30. Georgia Tech was outscored 49-35 the rest of the way however, leading to a 79-67 defeat. Miles Kelly topped the team on 36 points, seven rebounds and two assists in the loss.

Notre Dame Fighting Irish
Over on the Notre Dame side, they’re in much the same boat this year. The Irish started the year at 6-7 and have only won twice in the new calendar year. Notre Dame has fallen to Florida State, Boston College (twice), Miami, Virginia, Pittsburgh and Duke (with a win over Virginia Tech) in the last eight.
Back on Saturday versus Virginia Tech, the Irish took a four-point deficit into the second half. Notre Dame came back with a 39-27 run from there however, eventually winning 74-66. Markus Burton was the leading scorer with 16 points, eight assists and six steals in the victory.
ANDREW’S FREE GEORGIA TECH VS NOTRE DAME PREDICTION
I’lll probably stay with Notre Dame. Granted, there’s not much to get excited about here but it should be a competitive game at least. The Irish played fairly well versus Virginia Tech in their latest win, bagging 49.1 percent shooting with a 34-28 rebounding edge and just eight turnovers. After scoring fewer than 62 points in seven straight, it was a much-needed offensive boost.
These teams last played back on January 9 in an overtime road win for Notre Dame 75-68. Both teams shot below 40 percent in that one, but the Irish came up with a 48-33 rebounding edge (and 16 turnovers). With a sharper offensive effort in the rematch I think Notre Dame will be fine cover-wise.
