Ole Miss vs Auburn 1/10/23 College Basketball Picks, Predictions, Odds

The Auburn Tigers and the Ole Miss Rebels meet Tuesday in college basketball action from the Pavilion. Auburn is 12-3 overall this year. The Tigers beat Arkansas in their last game. Auburn posted a solid 9-1 run over their first 10 games this year, taking a loss to only Memphis on December 10. The Tigers are 3-2 since then with wins over Washington, Florida and Arkansas alongside losses to USC and Georgia. 

In the Arkansas game on Saturday, the Tigers jumped out to a 36-25 lead by the break. Auburn posted a 36-34 run in the second half and won it 72-59. Wendell Green led the way on 19 points and Allen Flanigan put up 18 points. 

Over on the Ole Miss side, they went 7-3 in their first 10 games. The Rebels took losses to Oklahoma, Memphis and UCF in that time. Ole Miss would then beat Temple and fall to North Alabama, Tennessee, Alabama and Mississippi State in the next four. 

On Saturday versus Mississippi State, the Rebels were down by three going into the break. Ole Miss had a 38-31 deficit in the second half and limped to a 64-54 defeat. Matthew Murrell logged 19 points with two assists to lead the team. 

PICK: I’ll probably stick with Auburn. The Tigers have been a mixed bag over their last seven games but they’re still capable of beating pretty much anyone in the country. Auburn bounced back from a bad loss to Georgia on Saturday, handling a very good Arkansas team without too much trouble. As for Ole Miss, they’ve played a few very good teams during this four-game losing streak and haven’t scored more than 65 points in six straight outings. It’s not going to get any easier here.
