Oregon vs Villanova 11/27/22 College Basketball Picks, Predictions, Odds

The Villanova Wildcats and the Oregon Ducks meet Sunday in college basketball action from Chiles Center. Villanova is 2-4 on the year so far. The Wildcats lost to Portland in their last outing. Villanova hit a 2-3 run over their first five games. The Wildcats beat La Salle and Delaware State in that time. Otherwise, the losses came 68-64 to Temple, 73-71 to Michigan State and 81-79 versus Iowa State. 

Friday was another loss for the Wildcats. Villanova faced off against Portland, falling behind 35-27 at halftime. The Wildcats were outscored 48-44 in the second for an 83-71 loss. Tops in scoring was Caleb Daniels with 18 points. 

Over on the Oregon side, they beat Florida A&M in their opener, then lost to UC Irvine 69-56 in game two. The Ducks took out Montana State 81-51, then lost to Houston 66-56 and UConn 83-59 in consecutive games this week. 

On Friday versus Michigan State, Oregon took their third loss in a row. The Ducks trailed 33-30 after the first half and couldn’t get any closer in a 74-70 defeat. Will Richardson led the team on 28 points with eight assists and five rebounds. 

PICK: I’m going to try Oregon here. Both these teams have struggled so far this year against some pretty good competition overall. That said, This matchup should be a fun one. Cover-wise you could make a compelling case either way. The Ducks shot 42.9 percent from the field with 35 rebounds and 13 assists against Michigan State in their last game. Outside of the UConn blowout, Oregon has been fairly competitive this year. 

As for Villanova, two of their last three losses have come by just two points each. The Wildcats faded against Portland in their last outing but have been pretty solid this year otherwise.
