The Georgia Bulldogs and Providence Friars face off on Sunday in a college basketball showdown at the Baha Mar Convention Center. 

How Does Providence Bounce Back?

Providence feels like they could have won the last game against Kansas State but they couldn’t make the plays late and ended up losing by three points in overtime. They made a second half comeback, but missed a couple of late shots and ended up losing. Guard Devin Carter had a strong game putting up 18 points, eight rebounds, and two assists. Providence on the season is averaging 74.8 points while their defense is giving up 65 points per game. The offense is ranked 204th while the defense is ranked 56th. 

Georgia Has Been Inconsistent 

Georgia has been inconsistent heading into this game and they are coming off a loss. The defense really struggled against Miami giving up 79 points and they ended up losing by 11 points. Georgia on the season is averaging 70.8 points per game while the defense is giving up 73 poitns per game. The offense has been fine, but the defense hasn’t been great, and it will need to be be better here. Jabri Abdur-Rahim is averaging 15.3 points while shooting 33.3 percent from the field.

This is a great spot for Providence to bounce back against a Georgia team that I don’t really feel is all that good. Georgia seems to be moving in the right direction, but they are still a year or two out from really competing. Providence’s defense is going to step up in a big way here, and that is going to be the difference here as the Friars are going to get the job done here. Back Providence against the spread. this is a very strong play.
